HE Mylene J. Garcia-Albano
Ambassador of the Philippines to Japan at Embassy of the Republic of the PhilippinesA native of Davao City, Ambassador Mylene De Joya Garcia-Albano is the first female Ambassador of the Philippines to Japan. She is an accomplished lawyer and bar topnotcher, with a long and distinguished career in the government service. Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Davao City International Airport Authority.
HE Julia Longbottom
Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Japan at British Embassy TokyoAppointed British Ambassador to Japan in March 2021, Julia Longbottom has spent more than half her career as a diplomat working on Northeast Asian affairs. This includes two previous postings to the British Embassy in Tokyo, first as Second Secretary Political (1990–93), then as Minister and Deputy Head of Mission (2012–16).
Longbottom is the first female British Ambassador to Japan and was a pioneer of job-sharing in the British Diplomatic Service.
HE Melba Pria
Ambassador of Mexico to Japan at Embassy of Mexico JapanWith more than 40 years of experience in the public and private sectors in Mexico, Melba Pria has focused on political and development objectives addressing key issues such as poverty, identity, tolerance, and supporting marginalised and ethnically diverse communities. At the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs, she has worked in areas that promote the inclusion of various actors in international affairs, the development of the Ministry’s relationship with civil society, both nationally and internationally, and the protection of the rights of the Mexican diaspora in host countries.
Pria previously served as Ambassador of Mexico to India (2015–19) and Indonesia (2007–15),
strengthening Mexico’s diplomatic presence in Asia.
