Led by Minister Akimasa Akazawa (Minister of Economy, Finance and Revitalisation), this initiative aims to formally establish the new Disaster Prevention Agency by fiscal year 2026. Future plans include potentially elevating the agency to full Ministry of Disaster Prevention status.
