Sharon was first elected as an MP in 2005. She has taken on many roles in Parliament including on key parliamentary committees, Parliamentary Private Secretary to three different government Ministers, Government Whip, Opposition Whip, and Shadow Ministerial roles (Children and Families 2010-2013; Women and Equalities 2013-2015; Children 2015-2016; Public Health 2016-2020; Veterans 2020-2021).Currently, Sharon is leader of the OSCE UK delegation, Vice-Chair of CPA UK, and a member of the BGIPU Executive Committee.

Richard has spent most of his career in International Trade in both the private and public sectors with roles at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the British Consulate-General, Osaka and the past sixteen years at Intralink. At Intralink he heads up our Government Services group, delivering trade and FDI projects and maintaining client relationships and ensuring consistent delivery across all of Intralink’s offices in Asia. He is also involved in energy, materials and industrial projects, so works with clients in areas related to hydrogen, batteries and smart materials.

Richard has an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College and is a fluent Japanese speaker. He is President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan and enjoys the beach and barbecuing in his spare time.
